You can participate in the largest listing of bird sightings in Quebec. ÉPOQ (Étude des Populations d’Oiseaux du Québec) is the best management tool we have for the protection of our birds and their habitats. This database provides crucial information about the birds of Quebec—their range, population trends (in decline, stable, growing), behaviour, migration routes, and migration stop-overs.

During the last 35 years, with more than 375 000 entries, ÉPOQ has accumulated more than 5 200 000 references to birds sighted in over 3 179 municipalities in Quebec! THANKS TO YOU!

*Be sure to fill out the general information (Site name, municipality, date and time of sighting, and name(s) of sighter(s)). Then underline the species seen and indicate the number (approximate) on the line next to each species.

Register your personal information the first time you visit. This will make filling out future surveys sheets fast and easy.

The “. . . birdwatching club that the survey will be sent to . . .” is: Société de loisir ornithologique de l’Estrie (SLOE)

Fill out one survey per day per site:

Ex. : If you visit the same site 4 times in the same day, you only fill out one survey.
Ex. : If you visit the same site 4 times but on 4 different days, you fill out 4 survey sheets.
Ex. : If you visit 4 sites on the same day, you fill out 4 survey sheets. Etc…
