Access to birdwatching site

Chemin de la Slouce crosses a variety of bird habitats. If you wish to explore the many logging roads and trails that enter the forest from the Chemin de la Slouce, you are strongly advised to carry orientation gear (GPS, compass, topographical maps, etc.).

The area

As Chemin de la Slouce is rarely used, it is possible for birdwatchers to stop on the side without disrupting traffic. The road takes you through a number of different environments favourable to a variety of birds.

Birds to watch for

The vastness of the territory, its environmental diversity, and its isolation, all provide the birder with an opportunity to sight many, if not all, the species of forest birds of southern Quebec. 17 species of Warblers have been sighted here. Other interesting sightings : the Yellow-bellied Flycatcher, the Yellow-throated Vireo, the Willow Flycatcher, the Sharp-shinned Hawk and the Canada Warbler.
